Friday 14 - Sunday 16 September 2018
The retreat will be located in the Mill House with simple dormitory style accommodation. Beds will be made up for your arrival and linen is included. All meals are included, as are tea and coffee. If you enjoy a glass or two of an evening, you are welcome to bring your own bottle. Meals will be prepared on the island using local and organic produce where possible. As the island is run by volunteers, there may be a few light chores to share. The return ferry crossing and all workshops are also included in the price of your writing retreat.
September is generally a pleasant month in the Highlands, but the weather is changeable at any time of year. Bring waterproofs, warm clothing, a full change of clothes, towels, wellies or walking boots, a head torch, a flannel and a hot water bottle. Bring swimwear if you fancy a dip in the sea. Don't forget writing pads and pens. Midge nets are available but bring your own repellent if you use it. You would make Em, who deals with Isle Martin candle management, very happy if you brought some light to share in the form of a candle.
The full weekend cost of Above the Strandline, including
meals, accommodation, workshops and return boat trip is £180
per person. The cost must be paid in full at time of booking.
We regret that Isle Martin is not wheelchair accessible but
please get in touch if you have any questions.
The ferry from Ardmair will depart at approximately 4pm on Friday, returning at around 11am on Sunday. For more information and to book your place please email Lorraine Thomson: firstname.lastname@example.org
